Pond Filters
redgator40 asked:

I have installed a pond from a kit, appx 1000 gallons. It came with a 535 gph pump with an external filter-i assume just to prevent the motor from clogging. It doesn’t seem to be doing a good job. I also am confused on needing and pump and filter? i’m going to add fish eventually. Are filters and pumps sold separately? i’m looking at a book and online and just getting more and more confused! and how much should i expect to pay?
I found this on ebay. Is it a good product?

My pond is roughly 200 gallons and I have 1 koi and 5 goldfish. I am running a 600 gph pump with a bio filter. Will my pond support more fish or do I have enough?

Since the pond is small (<800 gal) I think I want a smaller pump for the pond and filter and then something like a 3000 GPH pump to take water from the pond and circulate it to the top of the stream and waterfall. This way I can also turn the waterfall off and would use less filter material for the pond. Does this make sense?
