I have a pond with goldfish, Koi, and a couple of plants. I have two small waterfalls and a spray to help keep the water ventelated for the fish. With the hot weather here in MN this last month - the water is really green and the rocks have algae. I do feed the fish food - if I stop feeding the fish will that actually help the water clear up or is there something that I can put in the water to help?
We just put in a small pond and every 3 weeks, it’s green again. We have the fountain going 24 hours, but have no experience in how to keep it clear. Please help. Thank you.
I live in Ohio and would like to keep my pond fish outdoors for the winter . The pond is 18″deep and is about 350-400 gallons. Will a heater help with this or should I just bring them in to a 55 gallon tank?
We recently bought a home with about and acre pond that we know little about. There are cattails surrounding the pond and take away from the beauty of it….what is the best way to get rid of them?
I mean seepage in the foundation? Is there anything else we need to be concerned about? The pond looks around 0.5 acre wide. Its maintained by the HOA, but Im thinking that it could cause some water damage and we should inspect for it? The house is is around 100ft away from the property, and there are other houses between the house and the pond.
I have a small pond in my yard with Kio fish inside. I went to work this morning and when I came back (~12 hours later) there was a sheet of ice over the pond. I was just able to poke some holes through the ice but how long can Koi fish stay underwater without air before dying?
I recently decided that I want to make a pond just for native frogs in Oregon. I have planted a few trees and plan on making more shade but should I have a waterfall, will the tadpoles get ****** up? Should I filter it? What kind of plants should I plant in it and around? What should I do during the winter? What shape is best and why?
I have so many questions and surprising not many answers.
